More Than Traditional Veterinary Services

Our pet care services extend beyond routine wellness care and veterinary treatments to include internal medicine. Internal medicine focuses on the treatment of the internal body systems using non-invasive or minimally invasive testing, diagnosis, and treatment.

Using progressive techniques and state-of-the-art technology, we can treat veterinary illnesses and disorders, such as:

  • Kidney and urogenital diseases

  • Blood disorders

  • Endocrine diseases

  • Respiratory diseases

  • Infectious diseases

  • Liver problems

  • Pancreatic disorders

  • Cardiology Services

For pet patients who require cardiology care, we perform tests, such as electrocardiograms and radiographs, to help quickly and accurately pinpoint the cause of common and advanced heart conditions in dogs and cats.

Diagnostic tools we use:

  • Ultrasound

  • Digital Radiography

  • In-house laboratory testing (blood and urine)

  • Outside laboratory testing

Our internal medicine services and procedures include:

  • Endocrine and metabolic testing and treatment

  • Critical care management

  • Ultrasound-guided aspirates

Referrals

Our goal is to always provide your pet with the best possible care. In most cases, we can provide these services in-house, but there are times when more advanced veterinary care and treatment is necessary. In those instances, we’re happy to refer our clients to specialty clinics in the area. We also work closely with several professional specialists who have advanced training and equipment that may be beneficial to our pet clients. In the event your pet requires a referral, we remain actively involved, working with both you and your pet’s specialist regarding the appropriate plan of care, treatment, and rehabilitation.

For questions about internal medicine services at St. Francis Vet Care, or to schedule an appointment, call us at 515-304-5277 today.
